An important pilgrimage destination, the city of Santiago de Compostela is situated in La Coruña, Galiza region. It was built to receive and honour the remains of the Apostle Saint James (Santiago in Spanish) and it is the final destination for the pilgrims of the Way of St. James. The imposing Romanic Cathedral, dated from the XI century has four façades, each one with its own square. The main entrance is located in the Obradoiro Square, and the visitors may also view the magnificent Pórtico da Glória (XII century).
